Absent

It would appear I have been absent from blogging for a little while. I wish I could say I had an incredibly exciting life which impedes my ability to blog but sadly for me , that is not the case!

I did go for a drive up to Leura in the Blue Mountains last week with T, that was actually a really nice day. Being a public holiday it was twice as nice.

I'm turning into my mother. I spent an inordinate amount of time repeating "It's just soooooo beautiful here!" to no one in particular. It's hardly my fault it was such a stunning day.

I mean would you look at that view! I love heading out of the 'burbs and getting a temporary hit of fresh air. So rejuvenating.

BAM! I got my hair cut! Fringe galore! My cowlick is causing all sorts of issues but it's nice to have a change.
How much do I love MAC Russian Red lipstick by the way? Probably sooooo much.

Moustachio continues to be supremely cute. He also nearly gnawed my leg off as I ate pineapple in front of him the other night. We had a repeat performance this morning. The frantic meowing was kind of hilarious. He didn't seem to want to hear that cats probably aren't fans of tropical fruits. CUTE!

In other news that doesn't require me to add a lame speech bubble, I have a new JOB! I finish my current role in two weeks time and then on to bigger and better things. I am equally excited and nervous! I am also glad I do not have to attend any more interviews any time soon. Although they all went well , I am not a fan of rushing from the city to work all before 9am! I really do need to purchase a few new items for my work wardrobe which leads me to ask......

Where are we all obtaining our work appropriate clothes/shoes these days? Please share!

  1. Congrats on the new job! :D very exciting! My work-wear us pretty casual so I can't be of much help but if I want to go for a more business-important look I do head to Witchery.

Oh the mountains. I love it up there. I want to head up there soon.

    Welcome back! :D

  2. ive never been to the blue mountains - looks gorgeous!

As for work attire, I just started a new job (in darwin = hot weather all year round) - so i spent up big at places like cue, veronika maine and novo/myer for shoes/heels. To accompany my exxie pieces I also shopped at big w (peter morrisey stuff) for a couple of dresses and shirt. I've added tailor made dresses from vietnam, tops from kmart, and skirts from portmans to the mix too. It's good to mix expensive purchases with cheaper options.

i'd also try country road of witchery.

    1. That's what I think I will do, mix some quality key pieces with cheaper basics :)

  3. Congrats on the new job! I also recently got a new job, but in the same organisation I currently work.

I like to buy nice tops and mix them with my suits. You can find work appropriate tops anywhere really. I work for the G'ment so it's pretty corporate. Try Portmans, cue etc. I've heard Target has some alright stuff too though I am yet to look. If you work in Sydney CBD, there are also a few little shops in the Wynyard tunnel thing that have decent blouses and dresses for work.

I hate shoe shopping, so I can't help you there!

    1. I've heard about Target but I can never find my size in the things I like! Must be popular. I know the tunnel you are talking about, will check it out :)

  6. Ah still loving that fringe! And big congrats on the job! Yay!

My uniform for work is all black... blah! And because of my role I wear pretty casual stuff, so some days I crave wearing a nice pencil skirt, heels and a top! Wah! I would totally raid cue if I had enough money and an appropriate job haha. x

    1. There is nothing wrong with black! I've been able to wear some casual office attire but I'll have to step it up a bit now!

  7. Haha... love that you were sounding like your mum :) Mine would be saying "Make sure you take deep breaths and clean out that city air".
Congratulations on your new job. I find Country Road good for basics and they tend to have comfy fabrics too. They have pretty regular sales if you sign up for their card.

    1. I just love the Mountains but I think I wouldn't last a winter living there with the cold! I'm not looking forward to the train part I must admit!

  10. Congrats on the new job!

I think Country Road is pretty unbeatable for classic, good quality workwear and as some one else pointed out, the spend and save for card holders makes it great value at times. Target has some nice cheaper pieces and I've acyually bought quite a bit from Sportscraft I've realised. There is still some 'older lady from Bowral' stuff in there but their Signature range is divine (but pricey - grab it on sale).

    1. Thanks Natalie!

I love how you are so always on the ball with recommendations! I'll definitely check out CR. My MIL also gushes about the Sportscraft signature line and has promised to take me down to their next sale :)She picked up a gorgeous cashmere blend coat for a steal.
