Pink Lady

There is one lipstick in particular that just can't escape my attention at the moment and that is M.A.C Chatterbox. I've been wearing it hear there and everywhere! This is a case of lipstick I brought quite a while ago, wore once, and promptly ignored. Now it is making a come back in a big way!

Chatterbox is one of M.A.C's Amplified Creme formulas which I LOVE ( kept in good company by Girl About Town and Vegas Volt) - the texture is sublime. Creamy and non-drying while packing a punch of colour, it doesn't get much better than that in my book.

It's definitely love at second sight.

I've got six Back 2 M.A.C empty packagings lined up and ready to exchange for a new lippie, hit me with your favourite M.A.C shades please! I can't decide!

My Life Through Pictures

Christmas lights driving on Christmas Eve.

Finally wearing my TopShop skirt I bought in September and finding it looks great with my new necklace.

Cute little gifts from my best friend.

My Moustachio looking very disappointed he didn't receive a cat friend for Christmas. I am SO with you there Moustachio.

Being on holidays from work means casual outfits galore!

Received some beautiful bone china - one of the plates now being used as a jewellery dish. Love the colour / patterns.

Cooking delicious treats including this caramelised garlic tart. So very yum.

Rocking pink lips ( MAC Chatterbox) with matching nails ( Essie Fiesta).

Packed ( HAH!) and Ready

I'm going to NEW YORK CITY tomorrow!!! EEEK!

I am so excited. No work for two weeks, the city of my dreams and copious amounts of shopping and eating. How could it get any better?

I am so not into the whole packing thing though......see Exhibit A

Some undies and suitcase in a suitcase. Yeah, I've got some work to do.

I had a few people ask me about the travel wallet I showed in the video I did a couple of weeks ago so I thought I would throw up some pictures.

The brand is Modepelle (never heard of it before) and it cost me about $60.00 from a bag and luggage store in Chatswood.

Plain red leather and ticket/passport separators. That's all I wanted!

I've got my walking shoes sorted.

They are from Zierra ( previously known as Kumfs haha!) . They are the closest thing to a plain ballet flat with some sort of support I could find. Luckily they don't have a orthopedic look to them but do have lots of support which is what I need as I have high arches in my feet. Unfortunately I spend $190 on  Kumfs. Name changes don't fool me!!!!

I've got my on board beauty products ready to go. Changed my mind a little bit from what I previously said I would take. In the end Vitamin E cream and oil, Kosmea Rosehip Oil, a travel size Bastiste dry shampoo, roll on perfume and deodorant made the cut!

Oh and these face wipes to keep fresssssssh!

I've got my maps ready to go!

Now I am just rambling. I am really really excited!

Can't lie though, I am a little worried about these news reports of a credible threat of a terror attack on NY/ Washington to coincide with the 10th anniversary of September 11. For those playing at home, I fly in on the evening of September 2011. I really didn't think when I booked that it would play on my mind too much but after spending a week re-living the aftermath of 9/11 through the media and these news reports, I just can't help feeling that it wasn't the best idea!

Nether the less, it's all booked now and there is nothing I can do about it. I am going to have an amazing time, I just know it!

I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT!!

Ultra 3 Wild Berry Polish

I finally brought my first Ultra 3 nail polishes! The colours all look great and I've been told the quality is good too. They are so cheap, I paid $2.95 at Terry White Chemist. I haven't let myself buy any nail polishes for months so it was about time!

Ultra 3 Wild Berry
I really like this colour, though it doesn't exactly remind me of wild berries! These were taken with my iPhone in the afternoon so the colour isn't exactly true to life.

I painted two coats and the colour and finish was flawless. I then decided to use an Essie top coat and as you can see it ruined it with bubbles! Argh! Have to say I have not been impressed with the performance of Essie nail polishes in general and will be giving them a miss from now on.

Here are some pictures I took whilst bored out of my mind in Bunnings. I'll give it to them though, they do have great lighting. Too bad going there bores me out of my brain, and sosososososoooooooo much walking wah!

My cuticles are a hot mess. They have been neglected of late, for shame.

I love this colour, I loved the ease of application! I see more Ultra 3 coming into my life in the near future.

Do you like Ultra 3?

Terax Crema Conditioner

I was recently sent a bottle of Terax Crema Conditioner to try, hooray!

I have heard good things about this product on Twitter and have seen it at David Jones over the years but never took the plunge. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now.

It is described as an ultra moisturising daily conditioner for all hair types.

The Good:

  • Nice and thick, just how I like it
  • Packaged in squeeze bottle meaning it's easy to get out.
  • Doubles up as a deep conditioning hair mask, simply leave in for 15 minutes.
  • Hair is noticeably softer once it has been blowdried after using this product.
  • Hair feels healthier.
  • I just know this will be perfect when summer rolls around and my hair is assaulted by chlorine/salt water from all the swimming I plan to do!

The Not So Good:

  • Smell isn't exactly unpleasant but is a little strange. Luckily it doesn't really hang around.
  • I personally find I have to use quite a bit of it each time though it says to use a small amount.
  • You will have soft hair after using this but I don't think you get that silky feeling I usually get when I comb a conditioner through wet hair.

Overall I am enjoying this product as I have just had a haircut (finally) and am attempting to maintain healthy ends! It does make my hair incredibly soft which is always lovely.

You can purchase  a 200ml bottle of Terax Crema at David Jones or online at Adore Beauty for around $29.95.

Have you tried any Terax products? I've heard the Miele shampoo is good!

Sephora Wish List

I've been spending a disproportionate amount of time scouring the Sephora website lately, both cursing the Australian mark up on beauty items ( and everything in general really!) as well as drooling over the things I will soon get my hands on.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar US$39.00
I have wanted to try one of Bobbi Brown's shimmer bricks forever, they all look so damn pretty. I especially love this colour.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance US$18.00
While I love Urban Decays Priming Potion and will be repurchasing, I really want to try out Too Faced's version as it is able to be purchased in Australia. Oh, and I really just like trying new things.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray US$23.00
Never will I give up my dream of achieving the perfect summer beach hair. The fact that all surf sprays I have previously tried have left my hair in a matted mess does not deter me from reaching my goal ha ha!

NARS Moni Body Glow II US$59.00
If you were reading my old blog posts last summer you would know that  bronzed and glowy skin is the aim of my game. I have wanted to try this for ages, but that $100.00 Mecca price tag has done a stellar job of putting it off.

What products are you waiting to get your hands on ? Anything you've had your eye on for a while?

Kosmea Rose Hip Oil

Thought I would write up a quick review of Kosmea's Rose Hip Oil as I have been using it for a while now.

I first read about RHO a few years ago now, probably something that Zoe Foster had written, touted as the secret for soft, glowing and hydrated skin. I have read that many people get fantastic results using RHO but I have to say that like most things that seem to work miracles for others ( asprin masks, microfibre clothes, Dermalogica , basically everything!), this works just OK for me.

It seems that some weeks I can use this without experiencing breakouts, whilst other weeks causes a disaster zone! I have taken to using a small amount mainly around my eye area and tops of my cheeks which don't seem to be as sensitive as my forehead and jaw.

What I do like about it is that is does give a soft feel to the skin, and it does give a boost of moisture especially in winter when it can feel like a lotion is not enough.

RHO does have a peculiar smell but I am pleased to say that this brand in particular is not as noticeable as the Triology RHO I have also tried.

It comes is a small bottle with a dropper so it doesn't get too messy.

Overall, I could probably live without this product, as I said it doesn't always agree with me, but it is definitely reached for when my skin needs a bit of a boost.

Have you tried RHO? Did it work for you? Have you had success with a miracle product?!

On My Mind

My urge to surround myself in glorious materialistic things has reared it's head lately! So many things I want NEED!

Here are a few:

Cloud Nine Straightening Irons (AU $270.00)

About 3 or 4 years ago, I finally brought myself a GHD. It was certainly a step up from my first hair straighter which was basically a glorified hair warmer. After wet-to-straightening the life out of my hair, I could finally straighten and GHD curl my hair! But now the edge has worn off , as has the heat of my GHD. I'm bored, I need to move on, I need a Cloud Nine!

I like the idea of the temperature control, but most of all I like it because I don't have it ha ha.

Original Hunter Wellington Boots

Anybody who has has been in Sydney this week would know it has been wet wet wet. Let me tell you, trudging around avoiding puddles in ballerina flats is not fun. Add some wet stockings to the mix and it is REALLY not fun. If I had me a pair of these babies I'd be jumping in puddles like it was nobodies business!

Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation

I am well and truly ready to break up with MAC Studio Fix Sculpt. The colour just isn't right and it doesn't seem to sit well on my skin anymore. Time to move on! I am dying to try Pro Lumiere but hear it's being discontinued- typical! No way I will be paying Australian RRP though, will wait until I am in the US!

I'm sure there is a lot more I could think of, but I think I better stop before I torture myself!

What's on your wish list at the moment? Anything you just can't get out of your head?

Covergirl Lash Blast Luxe

I'm not picky when it comes to mascara, as long as it doesn't smudge or flake halfway down my face I'm a happy camper. I tend to buy a few of the same brand over and over before moving on to another and doing the same thing!

Cover Girls' Lash Blast mascara generally gets good reviews in blogging circles and seeing as it can often be picked up around the $15 mark on sale it is a a good staple.

Having been through a few Lash Blast's I thought I would mix it up a little when I saw Cover Girl's Lash Blast Luxe at Priceline. The colour I brought is called Black Platinum.

Cover Girl says :-
The blackest black LashBlast formula, now tinted with Luxe shimmers. The giant Luxe brush helps blast lashes to their biggest, boldest, and most beautifully shimmering. In 4 shades, ready to match your every mood.

You better believe the promise of shimmering lashes sucked me in. Advertising, you have succeeded once again!

The packaging is pretty standard, no surprises here.

I like the type of wand that is used for Lash Blast, I find the silicone doesn't get as clumpy and separates better.

This product delivered what I have come to expect from Lash Blast being thick, separated lashes. But did they shimmy shimmy shimmer? I'm afraid to say I couldn't notice any shimmer at all!

I've since noticed that this product comes in a few different shades like Black Emerald which supposedly gives a hint of green shimmer and I guess this would be more noticeable, but I didn't see these is stock when I brought this.

Overall a good mascara and I didn't loose out by purchasing a different variation, and will probably try a different shade next time.
